Geographical location, climate
The Kaliningrad region is located in the south-eastern coast of the Baltic Sea and is the westernmost region of the Russian Federation, completely separated from the rest of the country by international frontiers and international sea waters.
Population
In the Kaliningrad region, according to official data released by the State Statistics Committee 955.3 thousand people live. Of these, 456.1 thousand are men and 499.2 thousand are women.
