Geography
Pskov region is 55.3 thousand square km. The region is located in the north-west of the European part of Russia. The main feature of the location - the presence of the external borders of Russia (Estonia - 270 km, Latvia - 214 km, the Republic of Belarus - 305 km).
Population
In the beginning of 2012 amounted to 666.9 thousand people, including urban population - 467.9 thousand (70.2% of the total), rural - 199,0 thousand people (29, 8%).
